On Thursday, the FBI searched multiple properties as it widened its probe into a shooting in the nation's capital that occurred on Wednesday, resulting in one guardsman killed and another in serious condition.
Alleged Shooter's History and Home Raided
These raids included a home in Washington state associated with the accused, Afghan national Lakanwal, who officials said was a member of a CIA-backed unit in the Afghan theater before arriving in the US in the year 2021 under a immigrant program.
Federal agents seized a variety of digital gadgets from the property, including smartphones, portable computers, and iPads, and spoke with his family members, FBI director Kash Patel announced at a press briefing.
National Guard Member Sarah Beckstrom Passes Away After Shooting
